Ever since he was six, Jon Banister knew he would be a pitcher for the New York Yankees. After mowing batters down through little league through high school, through college and beyond, Jon turned pro in 1979…as a financial services professional with Northwestern Mutual Life. Oh well, the Yankees loss was our industry’s gain.

At Northwestern Mutual, Jon showed that he was a true gamer. Over the course of 21 years, Jon achieved “Top 20” in production as an agent and District Agent. In 2001, he opened an office in Dallas for The Stanton Group, a regional employee benefits firm, then went on to continue with personal production and consult for a national third party administrator and a national life brokerage firm.

A long-time acquaintance of Trey Darby, it seemed for years that collaboration was in the stars. Those stars finally aligned and today Jon brings to Grizzaffi Darby clients the same high level of personal commitment and kinder-gentler persistence he brought to his first client, his mother.

Aside from a passion for seeing businesses saved, estates preserved and clients retire with financial peace of mind, Jon loves spending time with his family at his kids’ sporting events, at the beach or with a fly rod in his hand. Yankee veteran or not, Jon is the kind of major league talent Grizzaffi Darby is always glad to have on the team.
